who we are



The organization believes that when youth are empowered with resources, encouragement, and opportunities, they become catalysts for stronger families and more vibrant communities. The central mission of Reaching Out is to motivate youth to strive for an enhanced quality of life: academically, socially, and spiritually so they may, in turn, contribute to the well-being of the broader community. To fulfill this mission, the organization sponsors the Algiers Revitalization Consortium and its programs along with Anoora International and its programs.



what we do



Established in 2005, Reaching Out is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit empowering youth and communities through education, revitalization, and cultural awareness. It operates two initiatives: the Algiers Revitalization Consortium (ARC) for community revitalization and Anoora International for empowering media.


~ Community Revitalization: Owner of two land parcels in Algiers, New Orleans, designated for community green space, cultural programming, and small business incubation.


~ Student Scholarships: Monthly stipends to financially challenged students pursuing higher education by expanding access in medicine, history, communications, and more.


~ Education & Publishing: Literacy and career-readiness literature from infancy and beyond. ~ Media: Produces the positively motivated Anoora Voices podcast.
